I usually stock up on bacon anytime I see it for $2 or under. I store it in the freezer and when we're ready for bacon and eggs, BLTs, or a yummy topping for Potato Soup, I pull a pound out of the freezer. And, this is the easiest way to cook it.
Baked Bacon
Preheat oven to 375°. Line a rimmed baking sheet with aluminum foil. Separate slices of bacon and lay them on the sheet. Try to avoid overlapping if you can. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes, turning slices over about midway through cooking time. As oven temperatures and thickness of bacon can fluctuate, check often to prevent burning. Drain on paper toweling and serve.

Hummm. I never thought to bake my bacon. I generally microwave it, but if I am cooking something else in a pan, I set it on the side. I might have to try this. No oven fires? I have a gas oven.
I don't think I've ever baked bacon but it sounds a whole lot easier than frying it. We eat quite a bit of bacon so I'll be trying it soon. Thanks.
We have bacon quite often on the weekends. I've never tried baking it. I may give this a shot.
I bake mine all the time. There is less mess to deal with after.
I bake mine at 425 on a broiler pan (that way the bacon is not cooking in the grease ~ no need to flip either) for around 15-20 min. Best way to cook bacon ever!
Busy Mom, I don't know. I've always done it in an electric oven. But, I've had more fires in electric ovens than in gas. LOL So, I think you're fine.
BKeefer, I hear ya on the flipping and the grease, but I don't like to clean broiler pans. I guess you have to choose your poison. ;)
that is how i cook bacon. i like it because it cuts way down on the bacon smell throughout the rest of the house (which means less febreze use).
Amen sistah! I used to babysit my bacon until I heard Rachel Ray say to do it this way. I find that my clothing doesn't smell like fried grease all day, too.
I really prefer to bake my bacon this way. It is so much easier and less messy. Come share your slow cooker recipes at Crock Pot Wednesday. I would love to see you there. diningwithdebbie.blogspot.com
